Howard F. Blank 1942-2013

WARREN – Howard F. ”Butch” Blank, 71, of Warren passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Lake Vista in Cortland.

He was born Jan. 23, 1942, in Sharon, Pa., the son of Earl and Elizabeth Forkin Blank.

He was a lifelong resident of Warren, graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in 1961, and was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church.

He used his talents and spent a career in the car business, serving as general manager for Sheehe Motors in Warren and Apostalakis Honda of Warren and Hermitage, Pa., before retiring in 2005.

He leaves a legacy of being a loving husband, supportive Dad to his three children, caring grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend to many he touched over the years. The family says he taught us many life lessons that guide us today and his witty sense of humor always put a smile on our face and made us laugh.

Throughout his life, he found the utmost joy in spending time with family and friends, enjoying vacations to Myrtle Beach and weekends at Geneva-on-the-Lake over the years. He enjoyed traveling, golf and the time he spent at the Legends in Fort Myers, Fla. He will be greatly missed and we have been blessed to have him as part of our lives.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Susan Malys Blank; his children, Tom (Katie) Blank of Chicago, Molly (Ken) Henline of Avon and Barbara (Josh) Olson of Kaiserslautern, Germany; grandchildren, Kevin, Ashley, Natalie, Erica, Danny, Alexa and Luke; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Elizabeth Blank; and brothers, Jack, Bob and Michael.

We thank the staff at Lake Vista and Hospice of the Valley for the excellent and loving care they provided.

Family and friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Staton-Borowski funeral home in Warren. Howard’s life will be celebrated with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Church, Warren, with the Rev. Thomas Eisweirth and the Rev. Thomas McCarthy officiating.
