Liberty annual cleanup planned

LIBERTY PLANS CLEANUP: Liberty Township will hold its 18th annual community litter cleanup from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Any club, groups or families interested in cleaning an area are asked to meet at the township administration building. Gloves, drinks, and bags will be provided by the Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District and Belmont Avenue Giant Eagle.

FRIENDS TO HOLD PRESENTATION: The Friends of the Austintown Library will present “Taking Thyme” at 10 a.m. today with Theresa Lyden from the Holborn Herbs Grower, who will discuss herbs. The guild, which celebrated its 30th anniversary, maintains the gardens at the Western Reserve Historical Village in Canfield fairgrounds and Boardman Park gardens.

FREE DANCING EVENT: A country music line dancing class will be held at 6:30 p.m. today at the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. N.W., Warren. An instructor with the Warren Fred Astaire Dance Studio will lead the class. The line dancing class is free.

TCTC GROUP HOSTS FUNDRAISER: The Career Paths to the Teaching Profession students at the Trumbull Career and Technical Center will hold a Chinese auction and basket raffle from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the center in Champion.

DEADLINE APPROACHING FOR NOMINATIONS: The American Red Cross of the Mahoning Valley is seeking nominations for the 2013 “Acts of Courage Award,” which recognizes heroes who made a difference between April 1, 2012, and April 1, 2013. Award recipients will be honored during a special reception and dinner hosted by the Red Cross. The award recognizes individuals who have acted courageously and selflessly in a time of emergency.
