RECYCLING EVENT HELPS TEAM: Howland Township and Howland Middle School’s Destination Imagination are hosting a Community Electronics Recycling Day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday near the gazebo. Electronics such as computers will be recycled securely.

The funds from donations will go directly toward Howland Destination Imagination’s travel costs as the team will compete in the Destination Imagination Global Competition May 21 to 25 in Knoxville, Tenn. For more information, call Ashley at 330-652-7711.

HARTFORD SETS CLEANUP: Hartford Township will hold its annual spring cleanup from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday for township residents only. Items being accepted include tires, water heaters, stoves, washers, dryers, and refrigerators. All freon must be removed. No paints, oil, liquid chemicals, or household garbage will be accepted.

SUTLIFF TRIPS FILLED: The Sutliff Museum’s summer bus day trips to Erie and East Liverpool are both sold out.

BLOCK WATCHES TO MEET: The Hubbard Block Watch will meet at 6:30 p.m. today at Hubbard Public Library, 436 W Liberty St. The Niles Fourth Ward Blockwatch will meet at 6:30 p.m. today at Evening Light Apostolic Church, 1156 Fifth St., NIles, with a guest speaker and demonstrations by the Niles and Weathersfield K-9 units.

ALUMINUM CAN COLLECTION: The aluminum can drive will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Sorrento’s Restaurant in the rear parking lot, 2488 Palyma Road, Warren. Aluminum can and or monetary donations will help support a local young woman’s efforts to compete at Job’s Daughters International Competition.

WOODLAND GARDENS OPEN: Woodland Gardens at Youngstown Mill Creek Metroparks has officially opened the Ohio Woodland Gardens Project coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the Friends of Fellows Riverside Gardens. The gardens showcase native woodlands fauna growing in northeastern Ohio. The area includes a newly paved accessible brick walkway that leads to the garden.
