Sesame Street gang makes music at Covelli

Sesame Street Live returns to the Mahoning Valley for four performances at the Covelli Centre.

This year’s production is ”Elmo Makes Music.” The plot has Jenny, an enthusiastic music teacher, arriving on Sesame Street only to discover that her instruments are missing. The Sesame Street gang – Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Big Bird, Bert, Ernie, Cookie Monster, Oscar the Grouch and others – come to her rescue and learn to make music with rubber duckies, trash can lids, cookie jars and other found items. Together they teach children that everyone can make and enjoy beautiful music together.

The stage show is designed to help children learn about patience, acceptance and teamwork.

It incorporates such pop hits as “The Hustle,” “You Should Be Dancing” and “Rockin’ Robin” with such Sesame Street favorites as “C Is for Cookie” and “The Alphabet Song.”

”Elmo Makes Music” will be staged at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 and 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Covelli Centre, 229 E. Front St., Youngstown. Tickets are $30 and $20 as well as $45 ”Sunny Seats,” which include a meet-and-greet with two of the characters.
