James R. Knepper 1934-2013

WARREN – James R. Knepper, 79, passed away Monday, July 22, 2013, at the Hospice House in Poland.

He was born Feb. 28, 1934, in Champion, the son of the late Carl and Cora George Knepper.

James was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from WCI Steel, where he was employed as a motor inspector and electrician.

He enjoyed bowling and spending time with his family.

James is survived by his wife, Janet Richter; two sons, Raymond (Sherry) Knepper of Niles and James Bostic of Warren; four stepchildren, Jack (Lisa) Matthews, Donald Matthews, Darla (Kenneth) Lemmo and Sally (Frank) Easha; a sister, Margaret “Peggy” (Robert) Culver of Bristol; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and his favorite companion, BeBe.

He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Michael Knepper; a daughter, Anita Darlene Knepper-Williams; a stepson, Thomas Matthews; two sisters; and seven brothers.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Drive, Warren, OH 44483, where funeral services will also be held 10 a.m. Friday.

Interment will follow in the Pineview Memorial Park in Warren.
