Fall Heritage Day planned
MESPO HOLDS FALL HERITAGE DAY: The 12th annual Mesopotamia Fall Heritage Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the township center, corner of state Routes 87 and 534.
Crafters in period costumes will perform outdoor demonstrations including soap making, basket weaving, blacksmithing, candle making and quilting. There will also be an Amish bake sale, craft sales and festivities. The quilt raffle will be held at 3 p.m.

FILL A HUMVEE FOR VETERANS: The Ladies Auxiliary of Amvets Post 112 in Newton Falls is hosting a Fill A Humvee event from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday in front of the Amvets Post in Newton Falls and during the Chili Cook Off for the Fire Department Auxiliary.
Some of the items needed include disposable razors, shaving cream, shampoo, mouthwash, hygiene products, shoes, boots, gloves, sleeping bgs, socks, undies and bras (new or like new), backpacks, beds and more.
Collected items will be divided between VA Homeless Support facilities in Akron and Cleveland, which may be distributed via local county outreach staff to folks in the Mahoning Valley.
LIL’ LAMBS HOLD SALE: The Lil’ Lambs closet sale will be held from 9 a.m. to noon today at the Cortland United Methodist Church, 155 N. High St. The sale includes gently used infants and children’s clothing, books, games and toys.
ARTWORK SHOWCASED: Community Artworks, a nonprofit group serving regional artists, is holding its first regional art exhibit displaying 88 pieces created by artists from Trumbull, Mahoning and Columbiana counties starting from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the James Winner Arts and Culture Center in Sharon, Pa.
STROKE GROUP MEETS: The Hillside Hospital Stroke Support Group will meet from 2:30 to 4 p.m. today in the boardroom. All stroke survivors and family members are welcome to attend.
