Libraries to close for holiday

LIBRARIES TO CLOSE FOR HOLIDAY: All Warren-Trumbull County Public Library locations will close at 5 p.m. on Tuesday and remain closed all day on Wednesday for New Year’s Day. All locations will continue normal hours on Thursday.

CLOTHING DROP-OFF SITE: New Life Christian Fellowship is sponsoring a clothing drop-off shed as a fundraiser and service to the community. Several weeks ago, St. Pauly Textile installed one of their clothing collection sheds at 2088 Tibbetts Wick Road, Girard, for the community to use as a drop-off for clothing. The clothing will be distributed all over the country. New Life Fellowship will in turn receive $40 for every 1,000 pounds of clothing that is donated. St Pauly’s currently has over 800 clothing drop sheds. The organization collects useable cothing, shoes, sneakers, belts, purses, linens, blankets and drapes to distribute to people throughout the world.

WINTER NIGHT OF LIGHTS: Fellows Riverside Gardens in Youngstown will hold Winter Nights from 5 to 7 p.m. today. Holiday lights will be shown through the garden paths. There will be musical entertainment and refreshments. Non-perishable food items are being collected to support Second Harvest Food Bank.

Mill Creek Metroparks Fellows Riverside Gardens Winter Celebration: A Garden Conservatory will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday to Jan. 5. There will be holiday plants and decorations. The Metroparks will be closed Jan. 1.

BOAR’S HEAD CELEBRATION: The Orangeville-Vernon United Methodist Churches will present the 40th annual “Celebration of the Epiphany: The Celebration of the Boar’s Head and Yule Log” at 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. Jan. 12 at Orangeville United Methodist Church, 7850 Stateline Road.
