Tue., 1:16pm: Man accused of inducing panic in Warren
WARREN — Bond for a city man accused of waving a pellet gun outside the CVS pharmacy on Monday was set at $15,000 during his jail arraignment this morning.
Warren police charged Melvin V. White, 52, of 695 Bane St. S.W., with inducing panic, which is a misdemeanor.
Witnesses told police they were going to the drive-through pharmacy just before 8 p.m. when they saw a man, later identified as White, as standing on the sidewalk at the entrance of the store parking lot waving a gun in the air and carrying duffel bags, according to a Warren police report.
White, who was also charged with possessing drug paraphernalia, was transported to the Trumbull County Jail. He pleaded not guilty and is scheduled to appear in Warren Municipal Court for a pretrial at 1:30 p.m. April 8.
