Samuel A. Reppy 1920-2014

NILES – Samuel A. Reppy, 93, of Niles, died 12:05 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014, at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren.

He was born Sept 14, 1920, in Philippi, W.Va., the son of Antonio S. and Rosa Oliverio Reppy.

Sam moved to Niles in 1959 when he went to work for Packard Electric as a millwright. He retired in 1983 after 24 years of service.

Sam was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps.

He enjoyed vegetable gardening, fishing with his grandsons and fixing anything.

Sam is survived by his three sons, Anthony (Karen) Reppy of Niles, Thomas (Vicky) Reppy of North Jackson and James Reppy of Niles; a brother, Henry (Helen) Reppy of Pittsburgh; a sister, Nellie Squarcette of Morgantown, W.Va.; eight grandchildren, Clarissa (Ed) Ford, Tina Reppy, Brian Reppy, Courtney (JR) Shipley, Chris Reppy, Lauren (Eric) Schlueter, Brandy Reppy and James Reppy Jr.; and two great-grandchildren, Alexis Dailey and Catherine Schlueter.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Maxine E. Jordan Reppy, whom he married March 20, 1948, and who died on Nov. 28, 2013; his parents; a brother, Phil Reppy; and a sister, Sarah Campione.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Holloway-Williams Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 611 Robbins Ave., Niles, where family and friends may call from 10:30 a.m. till the time of service.

Interment will be in Pineview Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Samuel’s name to Hospice of the Valley.
