School supply collection set
COLLECTING SCHOOL SUPPLIES: The Hubbard Public Library will collect school supplies from July 21 to Aug. 16 for students who would not be able to afford the supplies necessary for school. All patrons who donate items will have any accumulated fines on their library account waived. The program applies to fines and not damaged materials.
Items will be donated to Hubbard schools and St. Patrick School in Hubbard. Call 330-534-3512, Ext. 3.
ANTIQUE ENGINE SHOW: The Historical Engine Society will hold its 44th annual Antique Power and Steam Exhibition from 10 a.m to 5 p.m. July 25 to 27 at the Geauga County Historical Society’s Century Village Museum in Burton.
On display will be demonstrations of various types of antique machinery, such as steam engines, stationary and portable gas engines, tractors, excavating and construction equipment, grain threshing, sawmilling, cars and trucks, and blacksmithing. There will also be a parade of machinery through downtown Burton Saturday and Sunday morning, children’s rides on Murphy’s Railroad, and open house tours of Century Village’s restored homes and shops.

ITALIAN FEST PLANNED: The Youngstown edition of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel annual Italian Festival will be held from 4 to 11 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 27 at 343 Via Mount Carmel, Youngstown.
The 16th annual event includes children’s games, musical entertainment, Sunday Mass and procession, auction, wine contest, little prince and princess contest, historical table and a dunking tank. Call 330-755-2306 for information.
MYCAP STARTS ENROLLMENT: The Mahoning Youngstown Community Action Partnership is accepting enrollment and re-enrollment of pre-school children for the Head Start / Early Head Start Program. Classes begin Sept. 8 for children ages 3 to 5. Parents and guardians may register their children from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at MYCAP Administrative Office, 1325 Fifth Ave., Youngstown.
RECOVER SERVICES OFFERED: Recovery coaches help individuals who are impacted by addiction gain access to the resources, services and support that will assist them to achieve long-term recovery. The free service is available from 1 to 3 p.m. Fridays at the Sahara Club II, 2345 Youngstown Road S.E., Warren.
