Darlene Benyo Cole

NILES – Darlene Benyo Cole, 66, of Niles, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

Darlene was born March 1, 1948, in Youngstown, a daughter of Edward W. and Mildred D. Watkins Kish.

She was a 1966 graduate of East High School. She was a line worker at Packard Electric retiring in 2003, later was an ASL translator and teacher’s aide in Mahoning and Trumbull counties, most recently at Fairhaven School.

She was a member of St. Rose Church in Girard, and had formerly attended St. Mathias and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Youngstown. She loved spending time with her sons, and going dancing and socializing.

She will be sadly missed by her family; her children, Tod A. Benyo of Youngstown, Jason P.E. Benyo and Jonathan A. Cole, both of Ft. Lauderdale; her companion, Clarence Nickels; and her former husbands Steve Benyo and Alan Cole.

She also leaves her sisters Sandra (William) Hupp of Campbell, Sherry (Shamel) Rushwin of Rochester Hills, Mich., and Beverly (Gary) Andrews of Youngstown.

Her parents and her daughter Nicole Benyo preceded her in death.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at St. Rose Church in Girard. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, and prayers at 10:15 a.m., Tuesday, at Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home.

Darlene will be laid to rest at Jackson Cemetery.
