Tue. 2:46 p.m.: Top Warren drug dealer sentenced to nearly 13 years in jail
CLEVELAND – A Warren man who pleaded guilty earlier this year to Heroin possession and illegal weapons sales was sentenced today to 155 months in jail.
Lewis Powell II (aka L.C.) was among those involved in a pipeline of elicit activity running from Detroit to Youngstown and other major cities. An April sting that indicted 97 people and involved several conspiracies came after a yearlong undercover investigation by numerous drug-trafficking organizations in Warren, Youngstown and the surrounding areas.
Powell was sentenced to 155 months on one count and 60 months on a second, to run concurrently. The indictments, unsealed in April, revealed a connection suppliers in Detroit and street dealers in Warren and put Powell among the top 21 players in the pipeline.
